Notes on comparing Polak Made equipment with the competition

1.  Polak Made weight ratings are far more conservative than the competition.  Designed for stiffness and dynamic loadings.  Safety factor of at least 3 on bending, 5 on breakage.   The competition's ratings are often simply what will break the equipment.

2.  Most Polak Made equipment (includes all competition equipment) uses thick wall tubing (3/16" or 7 gage), like the top line equipment from Samson, Elite Fitness, Serpa, the old Forza.  No Polak Made equipment has thinner than 11 gage (1/8") anywhere.  All tubing in equipment, unless stated, is the gage advertised.  Note the competitors often advertise 7 (or 11) gage tubing, but only use it in some parts (like uprights).  The rest is thin wall.

3.  Polak Made gives old school craftsmanship and quality.  Equipment is functional, straight, flat, and stiff.

Recession Note

Before chiseling American built gym equipment suppliers, especially small fabricators, to sell stuff for almost nothing, remember the following:

The cost of steel and other items to build hardcore gym equipment is not dropping.  Business owners need to make some profit to live.   Small fabricators do not make much money.   Employees need to be paid.  Chiseling puts American suppliers out of business.  Not patriotic.   If you still feel that I (or my competitors) should give away stuff, then buy imported (and/or cheap labor) wobbly and dangerous junk and feel good about being American.
