MOTOR SPORTS
polakmade@aol.com
I am an avid fan of
motor sports. I have raced go karts and sports cars on
road racing (sports car) circuits, love to watch road racing and
sprint cars.
Go karts
I have raced the
following:
-
100cc two cycle
enduro (laydown) karts (100+ MPH top speed)
-
125cc unlimited
enduro shifter karts (125 MPH top speed)
-
Purchased a 125
cc shifter kart with 1999 Honda engine with RS top end.
Presently overhauling.
Tracks raced include
Summit Point (WV), Mid Ohio (OH), Virginia International Raceway
(VA), and Lowes Motor Speedway (road course) (NC).
Enduro karts are
exciting vehicles made for high speed racing on sports car
tracks. You lay almost flat looking over your toes.
These machines can really hug the track in the turns (over 1.7
g). Lap times of 100cc karts exceed most sports cars, lap
times for shifter karts can approach the fastest open wheel
cars!

Enduro Kart, engine
is 100cc Yamaha two cycle, appr. 22 HP. Single speed wet
plate slipper clutch. Live axle

125 cc shifter kart.
Honda RS 125 engine. Similar to the one I am presently
overhauling.
Sports Cars
I am the owner of a
2001 Integra Type R and a 1985 Porsche 944
The Type R was run at
Summit Point for race driving school and track days. At
one time, it had a roll bar, 5 point harness, True Choice stage
4 competition suspension, slotted brake rotors, braided brake
lines, race brake pads.
Now back to stock
except brakes.

My 2001 Integra Type
R.
Want to buy it?
$9000 (cheap!). 115000 miles, serviced by Acura, all worn and
marginal parts replaced, excellent condition. 8 hours sports car
track time, never street raced. Never wrecked or off
track. One owner.

My Porsche 944.
Race brakes and rotors, Koni adjustable shocks and struts.
Hope to track this car soon.
Sprint Cars
I have become a avid
spectator of sprint car racing, mainly the 410s and Outlaws.
I do not really get into oval track racing, but boy the sprints
are exciting. I watch races at Lincoln Speedway, Williams
Grove, and Hagerstown.

410 sprint car.
Fred Rahmer doing his usual in my part of Pennsylvania, that is
winning!
